The NDIS, explained in plain English.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a national program that funds reasonable and necessary supports for eligible Australians living with disability. The system can feel complex — our job is to make it feel manageable, one step at a time.
Five short reads — no jargon, no pressure.
Whether you're brand new to the NDIS or rethinking how your current plan is working, this section walks you through the essentials in everyday language. You don't need to read it all at once — start wherever feels most useful.
When you're ready, we'll sit down (in person, by phone or by video) and talk through what good support could look like for you or the person you care for. There's no obligation — just a conversation.
A note on registration
UCCS is actively working toward NDIS registration. In the meantime, we support participants whose plans allow them to engage non-registered providers (most self-managed and plan-managed plans). If you're not sure, get in touch and we'll help you check.
