Three ways to manage your NDIS funding.
How your plan is managed shapes which providers you can use and how much admin sits with you. Here's each option in plain English.
Self-managed, plan-managed, NDIA-managed.
You can mix and match across your plan — for example, plan-managed for some supports and self-managed for others. The right setup depends on how much admin you want to take on and which providers you'd like to use.
Self-managed
You manage the funding directly.
You pay providers, keep invoices and claim through the NDIS portal. It gives the most flexibility and choice — you can use registered or non-registered providers — and it asks the most of you administratively.
UCCS: UCCS works with self-managed participants.
Plan-managed
A plan manager handles the paperwork.
A registered plan manager pays your providers, tracks your budget and helps with claims. You still choose who supports you (registered or non-registered) — without the day-to-day admin.
UCCS: UCCS works with plan-managed participants.
NDIA-managed
The NDIA pays providers on your behalf.
The NDIA manages and pays your funding directly to providers. With NDIA-managed funding you can only use NDIS-registered providers.
UCCS: UCCS is working toward NDIS registration — so we can't currently be your direct provider on an NDIA-managed plan.
Registration in progress — and what that means for you.
UCCS is actively working toward NDIS registration. While that process is underway, we partner with participants whose plans allow them to engage non-registered providers — that's most self-managed and plan-managed plans.
If you're on an NDIA-managed plan, you can only use registered providers. We're happy to talk you through your options, including a change of plan management at your next plan review.
