The access journey

How to access NDIS support — one step at a time.

Applying for the NDIS can feel like a lot. Here's the journey broken into five clear steps so you know what to expect — and where UCCS can help.

Step 01

Make contact

Call the NDIS on 1800 800 110 or speak with your Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or Early Childhood partner. You can also start by talking to UCCS — we'll help you understand what's involved.

A teenager uses an AAC tablet with picture symbols to chat with a smiling support worker at a sunlit table.
Step 02

Provide evidence

You'll need information from your treating professionals about your disability and how it affects your daily life. We can help you understand what's useful to gather.

A child laughs with a therapist on a soft rug, building with colourful blocks and picture cards in a sunlit room.
Step 03

Planning conversation

If you're found eligible, you'll have a planning meeting (in person, by phone or video). You'll talk about your goals, current supports and what you'd like life to look like.

A young adult with Down syndrome chops vegetables on a wooden board in a bright kitchen, focused and proud.
Step 04

Receive your plan

You'll get a plan that outlines your funded supports, the goals they connect to, and how the funding is managed (self, plan or NDIA-managed).

A young person wearing noise-reducing headphones paints with bright colours at a community centre table.
Step 05

Start your supports

Choose your providers and begin. UCCS can help you make the most of your plan — matching the right support worker and building a routine that works for you.

A support worker quietly helps a young person fold laundry at a sunlit dining table at home.
You're not alone in this

We'll walk every step with you.

From the first phone call to the first shift, we're here to make the process feel less overwhelming — and a lot more human.
